People don't just turn on their BBQs for Labor Day -- they also switch on their smartphones and tablets, recent data from Google shows.
Google says it has seen a consistent spike in mobile searches on holidays over the past year, and an even more pronounced surge in clicks on mobile ads.
On Memorial Day this past May, for instance, searches on smartphones and tablets were up 7% and 25%, respectively, compared to an average Monday. Clicks on mobile ads were even more significant, up 9% and 39% respectively.
